SHANAY BRADLEY
Area Director, Syracuse Metro
Shanay Bradley enjoys connecting people by bringing groups of them together who might normally not gather together. In her position as Area Representative, West Syracuse, she will have the chance to continue that role. “I am excited to have the opportunity to intentionally be a representative of Christ under the title of FCA. In the past, I have represented various universities, their values and standards, but as an FCA staff member it’s completely about serving God and being His representative. And, I am looking forward to having a circle of believers who are doing the same thing,” Bradley said.
A Bronx native, Bradley played two years of basketball at South Bronx High School before attending and playing for SUNY Delhi. After two seasons with the Broncos, she transferred to SUNY New Paltz for her final two seasons where she led the SUNYAC in rebounds in 2010-11 and 2011-12. After graduating off the team, she volunteer coached for a year before a semester abroad in Trinidad and Tobago where she joined the university’s team, and competed against other universities throughout the Caribbean.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from SUNY New Paltz in 2013, she served as the women’s assistant coach at SUNY Potsdam from 2013-14 and 2014-15. She has also enjoyed coaching an AAU basketball team Triple Threat, as well as for the Children Aid’s Society at Milbank in Manhattan and various other clinics.
Bradley is motivated to help provide opportunities and support for those who are lost as she lives out Proverbs 11:14 — Where there is no guidance the people fall, but in abundance of counselors there is victory. In addition to entertaining and cooking for friends and family at home, she enjoys reading, biking, walking and traveling.
